Create a Report


After authorizing myFirmData to access your Clio account, users can create a report from their data in Clio, following the instructions below.


  1. Choose Create Report from the Actions Menu at the top of the myFirmData window.



  1. Choose the type of report that you would like to create from the Report Type drop-down at the top-left corner of the myFirmData window.



  1. Choose from the available Report Categories on left side of the screen for the data that you would like to include in your report.



  1. Select the fields to include in your report by clicking on the checkbox next to the field. The fields will be added to the Spreadsheet Builder below as fields are selected. 

NOTE: Fields may be relocated in the Spreadsheet builder area by dragging and dropping the fields from one place to another. To remove fields, choose the X to the left of the field in the Spreadsheet builder.

  1. When you are satisfied with the report, you can choose one of the following options:
  1. Save – Choose Save to save the report to the Saved Reports area.
  2. Preview – Choose Preview to preview the report in a separate tab.
  3. Clear – Choose Clear to clear the data in the Spreadsheet Builder. 




Preview a Report

By choosing the Preview button, at the bottom of the screen, you can see a preview of your report. 

  1. Choose the Preview button to display the report.   



  1. A separate tab window appear indicating the report has been created.


  1. Then, you can choose to export the report in .CSV, Excel or PDF format or you can choose to print or email the report.



  1. Choose which format you need for your report. Choose Export Options. You will be given the opportunity to save the report where you would like it and change the name of your saved report.




Save a Report

By choosing the Save button, at the bottom of the screen, you can save a copy of your report to use, edit or schedule a report to be run later.

  1. Choose the Save button to save the report.   


  1. The Save Report window will appear. Save the report with a unique name in the Report Title window


  1. If the report name exists, a message will be displayed to choose a new name. 


NOTE: The Report Category defaults to the Report Type that was chosen when the report was created.
